If you look at it from a percentage standpoint, one vote cast in a local election in a county with 24,000 registered voters is going to go a lot further than one vote out of millions of registered voters from throughout the United States in a national race.

Nevertheless, I’ll put money on it that next Tuesday’s general election is going to pull in at least 25 percent more voters in Monroe County than last year’s county election did.
