AMORY – A first-ever event highlighted by bull riding and country music aims to make for a free community event fit for children and adults alike. Bulls on Main will be held June 15 in a municipal parking lot alongside Front Street near Frisco Park, where the Amory Railroad Festival food court sets up.

“The idea came about between myself and State Farm agent Michael Cole. We were sitting at the lunch table at Pickle’s on the Hill talking about it. After the Railroad Festival car show and touch-a-truck, people said we needed to do more events, and he said it would be cool to do a rodeo somewhere in Amory. I said, ‘Let’s do one downtown.’ They say we couldn’t do it downtown, and that was just like a challenge for me and it’s kind of spun out of control from that,” said Michael Harlow, who is helping organize the event.
