AMORY – Amory’s Braden Maranto and Jack Howell have made their presence known on the baseball field over the past couple of seasons for the Panthers, and their hard work has paid off as both guys signed their letters of intent last Tuesday to play baseball at the University of Southern Miss and Itawamba Community College respectively.

“Those two guys were freshmen when I started, and they’re the only two guys coming back with a lot of varsity time,” Amory coach Chris Pace said. “ICC and Southern are getting two very good kids. They’re athletic, excel academically and have good support systems back home. They’ll be big spotlights this year. The kids rally around them, and they played a part in those two trophies that we have.”
