LOUISVILLE – Amory’s football season came to an end on Friday after running into the Louisville Wildcats in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs, a 58-7 loss for the Panthers.

“I thought we got off to a really good start, but they just went 58 points unanswered,” Amory coach Brooks Dampeer said. “Anybody who watches film or keeps up with high school football knows that they’re really talented and have a lot of depth. We knew that it was a major task, but our kids fought in the beginning and didn’t quit, so I’m really proud of them for competing against a potential 4A state champion.”
