The Town of Blue Springs held its annual Blue Springs Day on Saturday, Oct. 15, benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association, as well as the park lights and decorations for Christmas. It included a 5K run on Magnolia Way, kids' activities hosted by Girl Scout Troop #20200 at the Toyota-Blue Springs Water Garden and Education Park and including pumpkin painting, face painting, a pet costume contest as well as games and prizes. The festival also featured live music and a chili cook-off, bake sale and various vendors. The overall 5K winners were Kole Jackson, first; Chance McLellen, second; and Hannah Brazell, third.
