At the November 19 board meeting Pontotoc Aldermen unanimously approved a motion to purchase the .65-acre property which adjoins the Reynolds Street site where construction recently began on a new $2.9-million fire station.

Aldermen approved purchasing the property from landowners Dale and Lidia Bobb at the appraised value of $70,000. City officials said the brick home on the 226 West Reynolds Street property is in extensive disrepair and will be demolished.
