Dear Northeast Mississippi, Daily Journal Editor,  

As a lifelong Mississippian, I am shocked after reading today's article in Mississippi Today, which shows the billions of dollars our state annually turns down by not expanding Medicaid. This decision directly affects the health and well-being of countless hardworking Mississippians, including my friends and neighbors. By refusing to expand Medicaid, Mississippi is forfeiting billions of federal dollars; according to the article, over 2.04 billion dollars just in the first year.
