MEDITATION: Coming to a crossroads in life

I internalize everything. The events of the day go into the deepest part of me. I never wanted to do stand-up comedy, but I identify with the comedian who said, “Nothing is a joke to me, which is why I do stand-up.”

I don’t remember the following, but I’m sure it happened. When I was in first grade, my mom telephoned my teacher one day and asked why I wasn’t bringing home many school assignments. Mrs. Clay laughed and said it was because I was tossing into the wastebasket every assignment that I didn’t notch a perfect score on. I’m 57 years old, and I still want to do that.
