BEDFORD, Texas • Tommy Champion was only at Mississippi State between 2017 and 2019, but the now 27-year-old offensive lineman who first starred in junior college at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, feels his time in Starkville was the perfect punctuation to his college career.

“It was a great time, a great experience with the coaching switch of course my first year with (Dan) Mullen and them leaving,” Champion, now with the D.C. Defenders of the United Football League (UFL) said after a recent preseason practice.
